No matter how monotonous you feel life is, sometimes it just surprises you. The best thing is its complete unpredictability and the manner in which it bestows some of the most beautiful moments and teach you some valuable lessons.
Being tired in office after sitting for hours, as I went outside with few friends to have a cup of tea, it suddenly started raining. It being a mere drizzle we got enough time to take cover and rushed to a safer place under tree. I was about to take my first sip of tea when suddenly I felt a jerk on my hand and it spilled. At the brisk of moment I felt a bit anger and turned around to scold the person who just wasted my pleasure of hot tea in first rain of Spring.
"What the F....," I stopped midway cause as I turned around my eyes met the innocent face looking at me with apologetic eyes. "Oh sorry, I am extremely sorry. Actually it started raining suddenly so I rushed here and bumped into you."she justified. "Its OK"I pretended to act normal even though I had already forgave her at the very first look. My friends and I hurried back to the office and got busy in our work. I had forgot the incident soon at least until my way back to home.
This time it was not drizzling anymore but it was pouring like it was the last day of universe and it was not gonna stop until it drowned the whole world. As usual I had no umbrella and was rushing towards metro when I suddenly bumped into a girl with umbrella. As I got back to my senses, I helped her up and oh my God, wasn't she the same girl I had met hours before. Now it was my time to be apologetic but she just asked me to be careful and where I was heading in such a hurry. When she saw me barehanded with bag on my head to cover it, she understood everything in a second and asked me to join her till the metro entrance.
It was a bit awkward for me to walk with an unknown girl under the same umbrella so close enough. While we walked through the pathway we couldn't talk much. We reached the entrance and I was about to thank and bid her when she just asked,"where are you heading?" "Noida," I replied. And she was like "Awww I am also going that way." We boarded the metro to Cannaught place from where we had to change the metro. I am usually not so extrovert that I indulge in chit chat with any random stranger but there was something special about her. Everything about her was appealing, from her alluring eyelashes to that cute small nose, the brightness in her smile to the elegance and grace in her talk. One could barely take one's glance away. I was so indulge in my thought of her beauty that I didn't realized how that 30 mins journey came to an end until she said her station had come. I was so mesmerized that she was gone before I could get my senses and asked for her contact details.
On my way to home I kept thinking of her. It could have been much better had I kept my senses and asked for her contact details. I do not know if we will ever meet again and the story which is left in the middle will be completed or not. But then I realized all good things, wished or not, come to an end someday.
This is the beauty of life. Life is a journey. On the way to your destination you meet a lot of new people, every person with a specific reason to add grace and beauty to this. Some board the train before you and some in the middle. Not everyone is meant to accompany you throughout the journey few have to get off in the middle. No matter how beautiful bond you have developed with them, how badly you want them to stay till the end.
If one is meant to go he has to go, you can not do anything but to relish the memories.
Life is all about moving on and enjoying everything that comes in the way rather than repenting. This brief journey with THE GIRL WITH AN UMBRELLA taught me an important lesson of life.
Life is a beautiful journey whose path to destination is more beautiful than the destination itself.
